Vaccine Protocols:
Lower Columbia Veterinary Clinic focuses on offering a vaccine protocol that best fits your
pet’s needs.  We discuss the life style of your pet and what vaccines may be the best for your
pet.  Currently we are offering a 3 year Canine Distemper and Parvo Virus vaccine.  We also
offer titer testing for Canine Distemper and Parvo Virus in lieu of a vaccine every 3 years.
For our feline friends we currently offer a 3 year Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici and
Planleukopenia (sometimes called feline distemper) vaccine.  We also provide
nonadjuvanted Rabies and Feline Leukemia vaccines which have been shown to have

reduced side effects in cats. Please call (360) 636-1801 to schedule an appointment.
Internal Medicine:
We enjoy taking the time to diagnose and treat sometimes difficult cases such as vomiting,
diarrhea, not acting right and anorexia to name a few.  We have access to any type of
specialist nearby for consultation or referral of your pet.  Please call (360) 636-1801 to
schedule an appointment.
Dermatology:
Skin disease in the Pacific Northwest is a common finding. Itching dogs or cats and hair loss
as well as scratching the ears are common clinical signs. We offer skin scrapings, skin and
ear cytologies, fungal cultures and allergy testing for 40 different allergens in the Pacific
Northwest.  We also offer allergy injections and food trials. The veterinarian will start with a
comprehensive examination and offer the best diagnostic tests and treatment for your pet.
Please call (360) 636-1801 to schedule an appointment.
Surgery (Spay and Neuter):
Your pet's safety is our most important concern during any anesthesia procedure. We are
currently using sevoflurane, which is one of the safest inhalant anesthesias on the market. All
surgery patients have an IV catheter placed and IV fluids provided. We place warming
blankets around patients and monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, end tidal CO2, heart
rate and oxygen. All patients receive at least 2 pain injections for any painful surgical
procedure, including ovariohysterectomies (spays) and castrations (neuters). All types of soft
tissue surgeries are performed at our clinic including ovariohysterectomies, neuters, tumor
removals, foreign body removal and bladder surgeries to name a few. We will recommend
that your pet have a comprehensive exam and consultation with the veterinarian, as well as
necessary pre-operative blood work and other diagnostics as needed for your pet. Please
call (360) 636-1801 to schedule an appointment.
